Vigilante Vibes and Coffee Highs with Batman

After a long night of crime-fighting, Batman finds solace on a Gotham City rooftop, the city skyline illuminated by the moonlight. With the cool breeze rustling his cape, he takes a moment to enjoy a steaming cup of Bat-Brew. The rich aroma wafts through the air, providing a rare moment of comfort amidst the chaos below. As he sips the dark brew, he savors the bold flavors that fuel his relentless pursuit of justice. For Bruce Wayne, this simple pleasure is a reminder that even the Dark Knight needs a moment to recharge before facing the shadows once more.

[Workflow: Original art by Jorge Jiménez from Batman issue #153 (DC 2024);  a few simple panel edits and tweaks to set the mood.]

Absolute Batman on a Motorcycle

I took the final panel from DC Comics Absolute Batman #1 drawn by Nick Dragotta and made some alterations and enhancements to create this poster version.

More Batman Papercraft

Here are some Batman papercraft creations I prompted during a session with NightCafe.   I cleaned up artifacts and added features with Affinity Photo during post-edits.

Rooftop Batman

I started this image from a NightCafe image prompt, then finished it up in Affinity with artifact clean-ups, updating the bricks with a new texture overlay and more clouds.

Batman Standing in Old Downtown Gotham City

As the full moon cast its silvery glow over the crumbling rooftops of downtown Gotham, Batman stood upright and scanned the fog-shrouded streets with his eyes. The rain-soaked pavement shone like a dark mirror, reflecting the faint light of the city's distant skyscrapers. The smell of damp earth and decay was in the air, a familiar perfume that only Gotham could produce. The Dark Knight's foot rested casually on the concrete gargoyle, his stone wings outstretched like a sentinel guarding the city's secrets. The brief flutter of bats in the moonlit sky was the only sound that broke the silence, their leathery wings flapping in unison as they danced in the wind. It was a night like any other in Gotham, but Batman's instincts told him something was wrong, a feeling that grew stronger with each passing moment. The crusader's eyes narrowed and his mind filled with possibilities as he contemplated the darkness, his presence a beacon of hope in a city that often seemed to devour itself.

[Workflow: I took the last image I created and tried Freepik's Pikaso inpainting expansion feature to give a wider-angle view. I cleaned up AI artifacts and layered in some rain and fog FX for the final edits in Affinity Photo.]

Batman Standing on Rooftop Gargoyle

I reimagined Batman standing on a rooftop gargoyle by tracing over a panel originally drawn by Luciano Vecchio from DeviantArt. I made some creative adjustments, including adding a detailed gargoyle, flying bats, and gave him a batarang along with applying various color Fx. To facilitate comparison to the source drawing, I've included a side-by-side image of the original and my reworked version.

Caped Crusader Stamp Collection

I designed a limited edition set of Japanese postage stamps, with a select few labeled as "MOST WANTED," hoping that my online translator accurately conveyed the message.

[Workflow: Some base images started with Tengr, then brought into Affinity to trim things out, add some splash items with wear-and-tear, used Filter Forge to create my stamp outlines, and then back to Affinity for final presentation with fonts, pricing, etc.]

The Dark Knight's Perch

Batman stood tall on the rooftop, the Gotham City skyline stretching out behind him like a dark, gothic tapestry. The wind whipped fiercely at this high altitude, but his eyes remained fixed on the city below. In his right hand, the grappling hook gun gleamed with a faint blue light, its metal curves a testament to the Dark Knight's ingenuity. The device, a trusty tool in his crime-fighting arsenal, was poised to launch him into the night, ready to swoop in and save the day. The city's neon lights began to slowly twinkle on like diamonds as the sun finally set on Gotham's horizon.

[Workflow: Starter image created within NightCafe sourced from a Dan Mora cartoon panel, and then pulled into Affinity Photo for a couple minor corrections.]

Batman with Scooby-Doo

I commissioned an original art piece from Freddie E. Williams in 2012 and then used NightCafe.AI to generate a few variations from that black-and-white sketch. Although I had to edit out some unusual AI-generated artifacts in Affinity Photo, the final results were still satisfactory.

Batman Standing in the Rain

Batman stands resolute in the pouring rain, the dark skies illuminated only by the distant flashes of lightning, his Dark Knight silhouette.   I created this image with NightCafe AI Image generator and then did some artifact clean-ups.

The Batman Finally Murders The Joker

I extracted a batch of panels throughout the issue of Batman #140 (© DC Comics 2023) drawn by Jorge Jiménez to provide my own truncated version of Batman beating the cr*p out of The Joker.

Batman (papercraft) Standing on My Kitchen Table

Batman papercraft creation that I have standing on my kitchen table, the figure is about 6 inches tall. Created during a Meta AI Imagine session along with using Affinity Photo to merge all the elements together, fix the missing cape the AI forgot, and render a final picture.

    I'm Bobblehead Batman!

This image of Batman wearing his dayglow graffiti camouflage gear was created from a pile of various art splashes, Batman heads, and Batman bodies with Meta AI Image + NightCafe then pulled them all into Affinity Photo to Frankenstein them into the final product.

Batman jumping out of an exploding fiery building

I pulled the title/credit panel from Detective Comics #1074 published by DC Comics that was drawn by Dustin Nguyen; extended the art a bit, and finally placed it inside a nice flame-bordered panel.

Unpublished cover for Walt Disney's Donald Duck #85 (would have been released in December 1962)

Using my artwork from the last creation, I have created the unreleased cover from what could have been issue #85 of Walt Disney's Donald Duck if published by Dell Comics.  Naturally, I have created this as close to Carl Barks-style as I can, mimicked from many sample comic books.

    Donald Duck as Batman

After tracing/vectorizing my last drawing off a Carl Barks 1950s comic book, I decided to try my hand at making a Batman version of Donald Duck. I used quite a few different Barks duck images to compare against for inspiration and artist reference.

    Batman Vampire

Batman as a vampire, 'nuff said.    A bit of tracing and composite work from some other images, then altered quite a bit to fit this image theme.   I think the image I used for distorting into point teeth came out decent.

Batman Wants to Put You In a Coma

Eduardo Barreto had a nice panel in DC Comics' Batman - Gotham by Gaslight, which I pulled out, isolated, and then did a few edits and added fresh dialogue "Why don't I help you slip into something more comfortable... like a coma."
