Iron Man unknown artwork

unknown Iron Man artwork

[Solved - from Iron Man #241]

Anyone know which Marvel comic book this artwork actually came from?   I am not sure if it is from a 1980's issue of the main Iron Man comic book, or some other title.  Nowhere on the original does if give me a date, name, or any hint.   Most original comic book artwork as date stamps, names, issue numbers but this has nothing but some coloring guides notations.

Google & TinEye image searches were not much help but I also found a few scans of the finished image in a foreign discussion forum, a comicvine thread, and a random imgur post but none of them still gave any clues to true origin or source reference.

Can anyone identify the artist, the guy taking the punch, or the exact comic book this came from?  Any clue would help me narrow the search.

You can view the full hi-res scan of this artwork to see things in greater detail.   And before you ask the back of the artwork has only one thing written on it "story p.18", nothing else.

Maethrillian from the Halo universe

I really have no idea why this image of the large Maethrillian city in space (hirez) is so popular for fans of Halo but it definitely draws a lot of visitors.   I stumbled across this picture by accident and just thought it was a well-executed piece of space artwork.   It is currently my most popular item on Pinterest which you can see at this link.

Hal Jordan visits Earth-Q

Here is my latest scribbling artwork where I take a source image and alter it to my needs. I took the original comic book art panel by Dave Gibbons sampled from Green Lantern #178 (DC Comics, 1984) and layered in actual photos of the Earth and moon.

Black Mirror homage comic book covers

A Brazillian artist going by the name of Butcher Billy put out a series of homage comic book cover art images with each one featuring a different episode.   If you haven't seen Netflix's Black Mirror series, you really need to check it out.

I really love how the images have an aged look of older back-issue comics and maintain an accurate artistic style.    Ordering a few of these in poster size sounds like a great gift idea.

He apparently has a couple of different art websites:  Behance and Red Bubble.

Everybody Wants by The Struts

Everybody Wants
Love the cover artwork on the rock album Everybody Wants by The Struts reminds me of many 1970's releases.    Found this CD on sale in the junk bin at Best Buy, their loss is my gain.   Enjoying the music and I plan to buy more from them as they release.

Kilowog from the GLC

Great image from artist Ben Oliver showing DC COMICS' Green Lantern Corps (GLC) member Kilowog. Comic books have gone way beyond simple 4-color images in the last twenty-plus years.

You can find more examples of his art on Twitter.

All Systems Red

All Systems Red
Like humor mixed with some science fiction?    I suggest you read All Systems Red by Martha Wells which is a novella featuring a Security Robot who decides to go his own way and do his own things during a mission on a remote planet.   Humans may have been his original programmers but those rules do not necessarily apply for his decision tree now.  This is a great introduction story and even though a short read does come to a solid conclusion (no cliffhangers), and at least three more follow-up books are already planned.

We were driving down a backroad and I must have been hungry as I envisioned what this local farmer was growing for me.  My field of "Corn Chip" dreams.  Hi-rez image link.

Things You Would Love To Say Out Loud At Work

I've been collecting these since the late 90's, and if you search the internet will usually find a similar but much smaller list (like my older FB posting). I'm resurrecting my compiled list of quotes for friends and family who still spend too much of their lives at work. For a fun challenge just memorize your favorites and then yell out the quote's list number instead of the actual phrase . . . "I think Bob is asking for a #11 today.

Post-COVID these phrases can still be useful during your Work-From-Home, Enterprise Service Desk shift, or any other Remote-Work situation...

1. A cubicle is just a padded cell without a door.
2. A sharp tongue does not mean that you have a sharp mind.
3. Ahhh . . . I see the screw-up fairy has visited us again.
4. And your crybaby whiny-ass opinion would be?
5. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.
6. Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?
7. B*tch says what?
8. Brains aren't everything, in fact in your case . . . they're nothing.

15. Do you hear that? That's the sound of no one caring.
16. Don't believe everything you think.
17. Don't let your mind wander, it is too small to be let out on its own.

27. I don't think you are a fool, but what's my opinion compared to that of thousands of others?
28. I don't work here . . . I'm a consultant.
29. I have plenty of talent and vision; I just don't give a d*mn.
30. I know you are nobody's fool, but maybe somebody will adopt you.
